Interpersonal Skills

Log3 Goldrush

On Friday I demonstrated effective communication while playing the game Goldrush. I demonstrated this Interpersonal Skill by speaking to my team about making movements that’ll put the other team off guard for example saying “Teisi and I, will run in from different directions and distract their line of defense while you, Elaisjah unexpectedly go in and steal the opposing teams cone”. Us following the plan we made through communicating allowed the other team to get distracted which enabled us to pick up the cone and score points and win repeatedly.

Interpersonal Skills

Log1 Modified Touch
On Thursday during our modified game of touch I demonstrated supporting and encouraging others. I encouraged my teammates to play on and not give up and lose the chances that they had. To encourage them I said “Good job” and if plans didn’t go as wanted “Nice try” to make them feel motivated and continue. Also I gave them a friendly handshake to make them feel comfortable and not regretful of their mistakes. By doing this it gave confidence to my teammates which increased our overall team performance.

Interpersonal Skills

Log2 Obstacle Course

On Friday I consistently demonstrated giving and receiving feedback. I demonstrated this interpersonal skill by insuring my blindfolded partner was aware of his/her surroundings for example informing them by saying “There are three chairs ahead, keep balance but extend one leg forward from your current possession to feel it”. This made an impact on my partner's confidence, enabling his/her progress to be smoother. I also received feedback from my partner like “There’s a plank of wood that you have to get over, use your hands to feel for it and climb over once you have a good, strong grip” this making me ready for the next obstacle. By receiving this feedback it made me feel more confident and safe which then let me complete the course more effectively.
